Officer Joseph Kunicki was a member of the Camden Police Department during the 1970s. In October of 1979, while at roll call in the then-new Police Administration Building at Haddon Avenue and Federal Street, Officer Kunicki experienced chest pains and stiffness down his left arm. He was taken to Cooper Hospital by another officer. Sadly, this effort was in vain, as Officer Kunicki had died as a result of a massive heart attack before arriving at the hospital.
Officer Joseph Kunicki, only 42 years old, left a wife and four children. His partner, Officer Ronald England, had the duty of picking up his fallen partner's children from school that day.
